Announcement of December comics: Backflash, Confession

DC’s current All In initiative has successfully brought a huge surge of creative energy to the publisher’s output, be it an exciting reimagining Absolute titles or a slew of compelling author pairings across new and existing main series. The tyrant of the New God, Darkseid, became the catalyst for all these changes in the world. DC All In Specialand Darkseid’s cosmic shockwaves of death are revealed in New Gods #1 (DC Comics)reuniting Dawn Runner the creative team of writer Ram V, artist Evan Cagle and colorist Francesco Segal. The previous miniseries (collected December 25th) is a powerful combination of personal, spiritual and entertainment elements, and the ambition on display makes this team especially well-suited to realize Jack Kirby’s great ideas.

All about New Gods shouts BIG. V’s story pits the protagonists against a wave of intergalactic threats seeking dominance in the wake of Darkseid’s demise, while Cagle and Segala’s artwork highlights the majesty of this world, as well as the seismic power of its inhabitants. Action sequences combine Kirby’s raw energy with dynamic manga-inspired layouts, while ornate environmental details are reminiscent of classic fantasy illustrators such as Prince ValiantHal Foster and Flash GordonThis is Alex Raymond. Every issue New Gods There is also a guest artist presence, starting with Jorge Fornes at the top, followed by Jesse Lonergan and Riccardo Federici in future chapters, covering a wide range of styles to highlight how well Kirby’s creations can be adapted to different points of view.
