Thanksgiving weekend is the time to comb the waiver wire.

Thanksgiving weekend is the time to comb the waiver wire.

Thanksgiving is a holiday rich in tradition.

You’re watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, friends and family gather around a table filled with everything from turkey to stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, and the infamous yellow and green Jell-O mold your crazy aunt brings every year.

Sometimes you even throw a football around in the backyard before heading back for pumpkin pie.

But one of the most satisfying traditions comes the next day when you open the refrigerator and see all those delicious leftovers waiting to deliver that savory flavor to your gut once again.

The same can be said about yours fantasy football lineup and opt-out now with four games remaining in Week 13.

While everyone else in your league is recovering from a food coma, it’s important for you to evaluate your roster and see if there are any roster changes you need to make or if there are players you can still add.

Have you met Tua Tagovailoa, Josh Jacobs or Keenan Allen?

Are you already behind the week and need some upside?

Receivers like Nick Westbrook-Eakin or Marquez Valdes-Scantling are the go-to guys you could probably add, but is there a bigger threat to break the bar than Taysom Hill?

While most fantasy analysts hate to admit it, using Hill at whatever position he fits could be a game-changer.

In seven games played this season, he has scored double-digit fantasy points three times and nearly broke the 40-point threshold in his last game.

So when Saints interim coach Darren Rizzi tells the media that Hill will be a “huge part” of the team’s offense, you need to pay attention.

Yes, there’s always the possibility that Hill will score less than the five points he has in his other four games this season, but if you’re behind on the scoreboard, you’ll have to take that chance.

There are other players who could make a difference this week, whether they’re sitting on your bench or even available in your smaller leagues.

Despite some outstanding efforts, Tampa Bay running back Bucky Irving remains a player with little confidence.

Obviously, playing in a three-man field is problematic, but after Sean Tucker was benched after a goal-line mishap last week, the hard work will be in the hands of Irving and Rachaad White.

Against the Panthers, who rank last in all defensive metrics, he should have a fantastic day.

You should also look to include Chargers wide receiver Ladd McConkey in your lineup.

He’s the only credible receiver on this team, and he and Justin Herbert have developed a fantastic relationship on the field.

Betting on the NFL?

Facing the Falcons’ 28th-ranked passing defense should open up a wide range of options this week, and your fantasy team should benefit significantly.

The holidays are always a distraction, so if you can be first in line for leftovers, you’ll be eating well.

Guys like Irving and McConkey can help you with a higher floor and a higher ceiling.

Hill could be your version of the Ross Geller Moist Maker.
