NMC extends deadline for filing annual returns

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a notification informing medical colleges to extend the date for filing the annual return. The deadline has been extended from November 30, 2024 to December 10, 2024.

Submission of details/data of annual return is mandatory for all medical colleges/institutions except those colleges which have been granted LOP in 2024 and have not admitted students to the college for the year 2024-25.

Submission of duly completed annual declaration form of each college on NMC portal is mandatory for annual renewal of permission for UG-MBBS seats. The institute will not provide seats in case the college/institute fails to submit the annual return within the specified time period.

The NMC official notification said: “This may be considered as the last opportunity to provide the required information to the National Medical Commission which is mandatory under Chapter II of MSMER2023. Failure to comply with the necessary provisions of the above-mentioned Regulations will also be subject to stringent penalties as specified in Chapter –II- MSMER 2023.”

The notification also emphasizes that colleges/institutes that fail to submit the annual declaration will not be allowed to conduct admissions to the MBBS course for the academic year 2025-26.
