Can The Bold and the Beautiful’s Justin Barber save Forrester Creations or sink it?

Can The Bold and the Beautiful’s Justin Barber save Forrester Creations or sink it?

On Bold and the Beautifulis Justin Barber (Aaron D. Spears) will become a thorn in Ridge Forrester’s (Thorsten Kaye) side? We know Ridge contacted renowned attorney Justin Barber try to restore the order that Carter (Laurence Saint-Victor) created, but there may be another point of view here. Justin told Ridge and Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) that the situation might be worse than Ridge thinks. Was this a sign that the turnaround for Forrester Creations could get even better?

We’ve been focused on what Carter and Hope (Annika Noelle) will do next, and rightfully so, but perhaps the better question is: what is Justin actually doing?

When Ridge called Justin to save the day, he handed him the documents and asked him to take a look. Justin did so, and then sat down and read some more. Justin carefully studied the LLC management structuring document and then told Ridge that he was going to take a copy to the office and show it to a colleague to make sure he would advise the Forresters.

This brings me back to the thought I had when I saw this scene: what is Justin really doing? Is he buying Carter time so he can gather documents? It seems absurd (in the best, soapy way) that Justin wasn’t curious about whether the paperwork had been filed, since he had just been hired to stop Carter from carrying out a coup.

Of course, Ridge thinks Justin is on the rise right now, and yes, Brooke even noted that Justin worked at a prestigious law firm downtown, but of course, there’s a chance that all is not as it seems. Justin once tried to take down Spencer Publications, so he knows how to do it right. At one point, he was an associate at Forrester, and Justin just so happened to be the VP of Mergers and Acquisitions at Spencer. Sound familiar? And if you think I’m doing something wrong here, let’s also remember that Justin has a biological son named Marcus (Texas Battle) – who happens to be the adopted brother of… Carter.

Perhaps this is all a coincidence, and perhaps Justin is the most experienced person Ridge knows and the expert he needs right now. But if that’s the case, Justin should have been all over this, calming Ridge down because the paperwork wasn’t actually filed – a pretty big point to overlook for a lawyer and previous coup wannabe. If anything, this should have been the first and only thing Justin needed to look into before knowing the full status of the situation.

Justin has a story, and it’s not that legendary.

Let’s not forget who Justin is. Justin was not only Bill Spencer’s (Don Diamont) right-hand man, but also his henchman when needed. This was the guy who threw Ridge out of a helicopter into the Persian Gulf and left him for dead. He locked Thomas in a cage. He did all the dirty work for Bill, and sometimes he wasn’t even asked to do it. He was so dedicated.

But when he felt rejected and unappreciated, Justin became angry and wanted revenge by taking over Spencer Publications. His coup failed and he lost Bill as his best friend. Justin eventually came to Forrester and asked to give Ridge a chance to prove that he had changed. Ridge hired him as the company’s lawyer, and Justin did a good job of convincing him that he was the new guy.

Perhaps Carter and Hope are the only ones to blame for the takeover of the company. But Justin coming back to save the day, only for him to pull the heels right out of the gate, should be a red flag. Has Justin returned to make peace with Bill? Is Forrester Creations’ help from “dressmaker” Justin a way of extending an olive branch to his old pal?

Time will tell what this nail gun has to say, but someone please send Justin a note saying that time is of the essence. I hope I don’t run out of nails to chew in the meantime.
