We have reached a major milestone here at Loreto High School in Kilkenny as 100% of the boxes have been opened.

The verification of votes can now begin and the official counting of votes will begin shortly.

With the votes counted, John McGuinness (Fianna Fáil) is in the lead with 14% of the vote (9,011 votes), with Jennifer Murnane O’Connor (Fianna Fáil) in second place with 11.8% (7,541 votes), along with Peter “Chap” Clear. slightly behind by 10.4% (6660 votes).

Green Party TD for Carlow-Kilkenny, Malcolm Noonan, currently has some ground to catch up on. General elections 2024 in his bid to retain his seat in the Dáil. The local minister has only 4.2% of the votes (2664 votes).
