Two men rescued after hunting incident

JOHNSON COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG) – Just after 6:30 Saturday morning, a 17-year-old man and an 18-year-old man were preparing to go duck hunting at the Sandy Beach Boat Landing. While they were setting traps on the canoe, one of the men began to draw water. He was unable to return to the canoe, but they managed to reach shallow water.

Two rescue boats were dispatched and first responders rescued the men and their dog. One of the men was taken to a local hospital with symptoms of hypothermia.
